Mumbai, 7 December 2022 – The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) announced today that OCP Community Member, Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has achieved OCP Ready™ certification for their flagship Mumbai facility, MU1, located in Airoli, Navi-Mumbai, and is the first data center in India to receive this certification. MU1 is designed to serve leading hyperscalers including large cloud, content, commerce, fintech companies, and large enterprises in the fast-growing Mumbai region.

The MU1 data center provides state-of-the-art internet infrastructure, designed to provide globally standardized, scalable and sustainable capacities to meet mission critical requirements of such clients. Spread over ~six acres within a larger IT park, MU1 will have 48 MW of critical IT capacity across two buildings. With reliable power supply from a dedicated 220kV GIS substation, and an efficient design that offers PUE of <1.5, PDG’s MU1 is also a carrier neutral facility that offers highly resilient and diverse network connectivity from leading telcos.

By achieving OCP Ready™ certification, PDG’s MU1 facility meets requirements set forth and approved by the OCP Data Center Facilities Project. PDG also qualifies as an OCP Colo Solution Provider, which is a program within OCP designated for those resellers of OCP solutions and services who exhibit strong technical and delivery capabilities.

"India has shown increasing interest in OCP designs over the last few years. With PDG's leadership, we now have our first OCP Ready™ facility in India to showcase OCP solutions. As India continues to embrace hyperscale innovation, PDG's expertise along with their OCP Ready™ facility will allow companies of all sizes to deploy with confidence. We truly appreciate PDG's commitment and leadership in the Community as they have now achieved OCP Ready™ certification in both Singapore and India. It's going to be exciting to see the growth for PDG in India," states Steve Helvie, Vice President of Emerging Markets for OCP.

Interest in the Open Compute Project in Asia is gaining momentum and it is increasingly important to have data center operators who understand the fundamental requirements to deploy OCP hardware into their IT space. End users can benefit from the efficiencies, scale, and openness of OCP hardware within a facility specifically designed for the new generation of IT infrastructure.

“We are proud to be a recognized OCP Community Member and Colo Solution Provider™ in India. We are looking forward to engaging and facilitating the sharing of open-sourced designs in a facility optimized for OCP hardware,” stated Vipin Shirsat, Managing Director, India for PDG.

In 2021, PDG’s Singapore facility was the first data center in the country to receive the OCP ReadyTM certification.
