Mumbai | 7 June, 2023 –Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Asia’s leading data center provider, today announced that it has signed a renewable Power Consumption Agreement (PCA) with a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India’s largest renewable energy companies. Under the agreement, PDG’s MU1 data center in Airoli, Mumbai will consume power generated by a solar project located in Nanded district, Maharashtra. The project is a captive development with investment from both companies that will provide PDG’s MU1 its first phase of renewable energy. The project will commence generation in steps starting 1st June 2023.

The long-term agreement will enable PDG to take a meaningful step towards digital decarbonization by establishing a roadmap for its MU1 data center to be powered with up to 50% renewable energy.

In December 2022, PDG launched the first phase of its MU1 data center, providing 48 MW of critical IT capacity across two buildings. The data center is Mumbai’s first IGBC Platinum certified facility, a premium green data centre certification and India’s first Open Compute Project (OCP) Ready certified facility. It is also an Uptime Tier III certified facility.
MU1 also received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2023 Gold Award for health and safety performance.
