This green loan is part of USD 1.2 billion financing raised to support PDG’s expansion across Asia
Mumbai, India, 30 July 2025 – Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Asia Pacific’s leading data center provider, has secured ~USD 160 million in green loans for its flagship MU1 data center campus in Navi Mumbai, India. This brings PDG’s cumulative green loan commitments to USD 728 million, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure development across the region.
The financing, provided by leading Indian banks Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Canara Bank, will be used to fund the continued development of MU1 and support PDG’s broader green data center initiatives in India.
“Green financing is a key enabler of our mission to develop AI-ready digital infrastructure with sustainability at the core. With MU1, we are not only setting new standards for environmentally responsible data centers in India but also helping shape Mumbai’s emergence as a global hub for AI and cloud infrastructure,” said Rangu Salgame, Chairman, CEO, and Co-founder of PDG.
In late 2024, PDG announced the expansion of MU1 to a 150 MW campus and a 72 MW data center in Chennai driving a new USD 1 billion investment program in India.
Located within a 50-acre IT/ITES park in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, MU1 is designed to meet the high-density demands of cloud and AI workloads. The first two buildings with 50 MW capacity are operational and the first phase of the 100 MW expansion is currently under construction.
MU1 is Mumbai’s first data center to achieve Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum certification. Powered by renewable energy, the campus offers customers the flexibility of hybrid cooling, strong network connectivity, and hyperscale-grade infrastructure — strategically located next to the Kalwa substation.
